So, Disney just released 10 minutes of "John Carter"

To be honest, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It has no Mars action, and it's almost all new footage.

My brother saw it and quite enjoyed it, and to be honest I think it will probably be a decent movie but Disney fucked up the marketing really bad.

@Mr_skeleton: Indeed. The marketing has been awful, but after looking past the marketing and into the production (who was writing and directing mainly), I began to hold out hope. It looks like an old fashioned blockbuster from this clip, which is something I don't see enough in theaters now (on that note, "Tintin" was the most fun I've had in a theater in a long LONG time).

This has that Indiana Jones or old fashioned blockbuster feel to it and that's what I'm really digging about this clip. Stanton is very affectionate about the novels and from these ten minutes, that's very clear.

@Mr_skeleton: (at work now, can't check out the video)

But in regards to the marketing, I agree. It has a Clash of the Titans / Prince of Persia type marketing which makes me want to hate it immediately. My mind can be changed though...

Looks awesome. I will go see it, of course I never worried about it. I has always had fate (unlike most people), especially with the crew behind it.

We all have uncertain fates, buddy. Only some of us have faith, though.

Here's The First Ten Minutes Of John Carter

Disney's movie is doing poorly in tracking, so they release a ten-minute clip that has no aliens or Mars or hot princesses in it. Um, ok!

Trailer 3: John Carter

Disney apparently took the challenge of that actually-decent fan trailer seriously, and decided to beef up this last trailer with...dubstep? Oh, Disney!

Trailer 2: John Carter

This looks like some ridiculous mashup of Attack of the Clones, Stargate, and Wild Wild West. Will it be good? We'll find out in March!

Trailer: John Carter

Dune meets Cowboys and Aliens? This live-action debut of Pixar director Andrew Stanton is based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' John Carter Of Mars.
