Rambo is a former Special Forces member and Vietnam War veteran who is having trouble adjusting to civilian life after witnessing the horrors of war. His encounter with the law in Hope, Washington doesn't go terribly well...mostly for the pursuing officers.
John Rambo was born in Bowie, Arizona on July 6, 1947. His father was a Navajo Native American and his mother was an Italian American. When he was 17, John was drafted into the United States Military and was deployed to Vietnam. After he returned from the U.S, he received training for the Special Forces from Fort Bragg. He received an array of medals for his war service, including the Medal of Honor and Purple Heart.
