Sylvester Stallone (1995)

Or...

Karl Urban (2012)

Now for discussion purposes, in the Comics his uniform is drawn like this..

For me it's a toss up. The 1995 has the shoulder pads the 2012 is missing, but i can't stand the cod piece. However I love the 2012 belt.

Toss up here too. 2012 is a little more realistic/believable - but don't know if that's really what we want from a Judge Dredd movie - as it is the trailer makes it seem all 'dark and gritty', but lacking the black humor of the comics. A mixture of the two would be best.

As much as I think the original is nearly spot on for the comic book style I like the new one. It makes me think that he's more of a kick ass and take names later kind of guy.

I like the modern version of the 2012 film. The comic and the Stallone version share similar details in their extravagance except from the codpiece Stallone is "rocking." Overall, I'd imagine the most important element of the costume is the helmet. It's probably for the bes that both film adaptations stick very close to the comic.

@FinalDasa: aside from the shoulder pads, i think the 2012 looks more Like the comic, both had the side arm higher, the new helmet looks more like the comic. has far as the body armor, the comic isn't in High Def, so i don't think we can really make that out. but the 1995, well it looks more like tights.

@the_referee: yeah the cod piece is really stupid.

i pick the new one. the old uniform isn't scary enough.

That's the general consistence, The original was closer to the comics, but the new one fits the feel for a darker movie.

All they needed to do was put the damn shoulderpads on the new one! It would've been EXCELLENT!

Best answer so far! If you are including the Badge?

I can't wait for the new one.

As long as Karl Urban keeps the helmet on and Rob Schneider doesn't show up I could care less.

I prefer Karl Urban's uniform. But they need to put Jay Leno in there for the chin. I never really got Dredd's uniform, it seems so impractical. The large shoulder pads and boot holster...

Well, considering the original comic designs are shit... the new one. It's far more practical.
