Have you read Michael Crichton books and watch the movies?

I read the Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park and the Lost World a while before the movies. And as usual, the movies deviates from the novel somewhat (San Diego WTF?). Just wondering how reading the books before watching the movies changed your perspective in comparison to those who had only watched the movies. Other Michael Crichton books-turned-movies include; Sphere, Rising Sun, Disclosure, Timeline. Jurrasic Park 3 was never a book by the way.

I watched and loved Jurassic Park for years before I read the book.
 
And then I realized the book was worse than the movie and stopped reading it.

Jurrassic Park is the only one i have done both for.
 
But I have also read Clive Barker's Books of Blood, Rawhead Rex, HellBound Heart, and Cabal. which were all turned into films.
