That moment in the picture above, that’s the exact moment I fell in love with cinema as a kid. Re-watching Jurassic Park on the big screen again last week made me remember just how profoundly moving cinema can be sometimes, seeing that scene again was like falling in love with movies all over again.

It got me thinking if there are other moments in cinema that people can pinpoint to one specific moment that made them fall in love with the medium.

Share yours, I'm really interested to find out if I'm not the only one.

My earliest memories from the movies are films like Toy Story and Lion King I can remember the emotional impact of watching Mufasa dying when I was still little. I don't know if there was a specific film or moment that really got me into movies though, I have just always liked watching them. Even as a kid they used to do a movie club thing where you paid like a monthly fee and you got to see like two movies a week with all these other kids in the movie club, maybe that has lead to me having a little more of an interest than the average person.

I think Seven Samurai was the movie that made me think "this is what I wanna do with my life" and also made me a film addict, after that I've been watching or trying to watch one movie a day.

Great question, what got me into movies as a kid was Dark Crystal and labyrinth, both which spurred on my imagination as a child and watched things beyonded wonder happen on my screen. It was like anything was possible, as I grew older and understood movies more I think it was The Princess Bride that made me a movie buff, it had everything a kid/adult/adult kid could want!!! Action, comedy and story line....and most of all was a good romp. Now I love great mind bending films just like the rest of us, but my love of movies comes from the fun times I remember from when I was a kid sitting up munching on ceral watching a film.

I was raised with a father in the industry, it was always so glamorous when I was little, and of course I had film forced upon me from birth. As I got older and grew to appreciate what he had given me it became a love of my own as well, though we differ in taste in many areas its still something we share that I love.

I'm trying to think what movie in particular got me into more movies and nothing comes to mind.

My dad and I watched a lot of movies when I was a kid and went to the movies a lot. That got me into the habit of going to see movies and enjoying them.

Ever since I can usually give a movie a chance and find something enjoyable or watchable in a film.

Star Wars... Simple as that. When Han shot first, and the creatures were puppets. I have probably seen the first three movies a hundred times over in the 22 years since I first saw them. Pure magic.

I don't know I have loved movies like my whole life but I would have to say that Batman Begins maybe made me realize what good movies are and what shitty ones are so yeah.

Jurassic Park was the first thing I saw in cnema as a kid, so that same moment was huge for me. When it really took off was when I went to see Gladiator. It was a shock learning that I could find a story that powerful by choosing my own movies and since then I've seen pretty much everything released.

For me it was The Neverending Story wich, when I didn't watch it, tried to reenact as much as possible in daily life. Up to that point I had mostly watched cartoons and kids movies. It got me deep into that 80s adventure genre. Krull, Labyrinth, Beastmaster, Willow, Ghostbusters, The Ewok Adventures, Conan the Barbarian, Flash Gordon etc. That's when I started to love movies.
