Katy Perry is pretty famous for her songs "Firework" and "California Gurls," so it made sense for her movie to be released in the summer around Independence Day. What doesn't make sense is for her movie (Katy Perry: Part of Me) to come out RIGHT AFTER the fourth of July when everyone sees a freaking firework show. The song totally doesn't work right after you've seen one, it works right before. I get it didn't want to compete with The Amazing Spider-man, but I still think it is weird.

I think the bigger and better question is why is there a Katy Perry movie in the first place?

Cause Paramount saw how much money that Bieber movie made for them.

the Justin Bieber movie was surprisingly good, even though these concert movies merged with biopics tend to be terrible.

I really like Katy Perry, amongst all the fame and fortune she hasn't particularly changed or got too big for herself. It's really amazing how she appears without make-up in this film, I think it's inspiring. I mean, you probably won't know, but a girl and her make-up is inseparable ... I rarely even let my boyfriends see me without make-up.

@PatVB: It's basically a year in the life of Katy Perry, she's only finished filming it very recently. (: it's her on her California Dreams Tour, we meet her strict Christian family, it even has some footage of her marriage with Russell Brand and a lot of her personal life in it, as well as scenes of her without make-up! Oh and it tells us how and why she got into the industry and the challenges she's faced.

@PatVB: I know, right? I mean Concert movies aren't exactly thrilling, but I think they're good for getting to know your favourite artists and feeling like you're there at a concert.

I was going to post the exact same thing. This is one of those terrible things that actually surprised me though.
