Scott Pilgrim's ex-girlfriend and drummer of Sex Bob-omb.
Kim Pine is the drummer of the titular character's, Scott Pilgrim, band "Sex Bob-omb". Her role in the film adaptation is greatly reduced (as should be expected), as her relationship with Scott is simply mentioned and not as thoroughly explained. However, Adult Swim released a short animated movie clip regarding Scott and Kim's high school relationship, which is identical (down to the actual drawings) to the graphic novel's. This revelation of the past makes very little sense when connected to the film's story, as Scott claims he's lived in Toronto forever and that "the house he grew up in" is directly across the street from where he currently lives despite the fact that the animated short has him moving to Toronto around four years from the time the movie takes place. But, you know, whatever it's Edgar Wright. He can do whatever he wants and still be awesome.
The circumstances of their breakup also seems different, as it is claimed by Julie Powers that Scott "dumped Kim for..." before being cut off. Scott also seems unable to clearly recall why they broke up, stating that "it was high school. She had freckles. It kind of ended. We changed".
Kim is portrayed as either misanthropic or completely apathetic towards most people and things. Everything she says is laced with either sarcasm or contempt throughout the film, and only shows any enthustiasm during her introduction of band songs, where she will scream something to the effect of "We are Sex Bob-omb! One, two, three, four!". However, she does display some concern for Scott's relationship with Ramona, telling him that he should go talk to her but "doesn't really care". Despite this, she shows no hesitation signing with Gideon even though Scott refuses, effectively kicking him out of Sex Bob-omb.
While playing at the Chaos Theater, Scott finally apologizes for his mistreatment of Kim ("I'm sorry about everything. I'm sorry about me"), leading her to finally smile.
