King's Landing

When the Targaryens came to Westeros, this is where they first landed, and began their campaign to conquer the seven kingdoms. Because of it's significanse in Targaryen history, they made it the capital, and it stayed as such after the Targaryens fell.

Towering over the rest of the city is the Royale Castle, the Red Keep, where the King rules from the Iron Throne. It lies by the mouth of the Blackwater river and is the Seven Kingdom's main port.
