Kryptonite is an element from Superman's home planet Krypton. There are many types of kryptonite. The most famous is the green one - one of the few things that can kill Superman.

There have been many types of Kryptonite over the years, most of them owned by Lex Luthor.- 
 
Black Kryptonite- Makes Superman evil or darker being. 
 Blue Kryptonite- The Green Kryptonite that weakens Superman's clone Bizarro. 
Pink Kryptonite- Turns Superman gay. 
Green Kryptonite- Most common form that weakens Superman. 
Gold Kryptonite- Removes the abilities of any Kryptonian like Superman or Supergirl for up to 15 seconds. 
Jewel Kryptonite- Magnifies psychis powers of people from the Phantom Zone. 
Red Kryptonite- Different effect every time. 
Silver Kryptonite- Harmless. 
White Kryptonite- Destroys all plant life. 
X-Kryptonite- Gives normal people superpowers for a short time.
