Look kid, they can't all be Death Proof.
Look kid, they can't all be Death Proof.
Good news today for those Kurt Russell fans anxiously waiting for his next starring feature. It's looking like he's going to play the head coach of a high school football team in Touchback. The film is written and directed by Don Handfield, making his debut feature here.

On Russell's joining the team as Coach Hand, Handfield had this to say:

"I am thrilled he responded to the material. He is an icon and brings a unique warmth, charm and strength to the character. I feel blessed to be working with such a legendary actor on my first film."

The story follows Murphy ( Brian Presley) who's a farmer and volunteer fireman unhappy with his life. His glory days were in high school on the football team, and was injured during the playoffs, and has been regretting it ever since. The story somehow transports him back to the moment of his injury, giving him the choice to change his entire life's path.

Well, at least they're giving us a heads up with "touch" in the title of the thing. I prefer Russell's touching to be done with his fists or deadly vehicles, personally. But that Blind Side crowd will probably eat this up.

Filming begins this week in Michigan, and KURT RUSSELL FUNFACT: this film will be his first pairing with Christine Lahti since they starred together in 1984's Swing Shift.

Glad to see him back, not so sure I'm glad to see him in a film like this.

If they were all Death Proof, Kurt Russell would be a superstar. Unfortunately, he does things like this. Even a movie like Sky High is was preferable to a damn football movie.  >.<

Kurt Russell was one of the only good parts about Death Proof. I hope that he delivers a strong performance.

I think that Kurt Russel and Jeff Bridges are slowly merging into one person.

Sounds a bit trite and sappy, but what the hey, Russell wants to keep working, I say let him.

Just for visuals...mmm....Christine Lahti.....

Personally, I'm rooting for Executive Decision 2.    Now if they can only make a plot device to being back Segal and kill him again....
