Law & Order is over...can you really blame them?

Law & Order is a show I've grown up with.  Some of my earliest television viewing memories are founded in the ground-breaking and long running NBC procedural show.  But what I fail to understand is simple...why the griping?  Why are people getting upset about this cancellation?  Sure, I, and many people like me, would have wanted it to make it to the twenty-one seasons, beating out "Gunsmoke" as the longest running live action television show of all time, however it seems that the show is destined to remain tied.  Have you watched Law & Order in the last five years?  Honestly, I stopped.  I even made it through the days of Dennis Farina.

However, my problem stirred up when Jeremy Sisto and Anthony Anderson took over the main roles, I lost interest.  And with many more original people dropping out, the only original people who were left to stick around were Sam Waterson and S. Epatha Merkerson (Lt. Anita Van Buren).  I mean, sure, I'll always be the fan who enjoyed the days of Jerry Orbach.  However, those new actors I mentioned above failed to draw me into the show with any notion of  being plausible.  That being said, am I sad to see Law & Order take the trip to permanent cable syndication?  No.  It just feels like a long time coming for the final nail in the coffin.

I can always watch Law and Order, but if it's not pulling the ratings it's not a big deal.  I'm a bit surprised it's still around after all these years.
