Nicknamed "Bones", Leonard McCoy is the chief physician aboard the USS Enterprise. He's a doctor and not many other things.
Background
Leonard H. Mccoy, better known by his nickname "Bones," served as chief medical officer aboard the USS Enterprise and it's successor the USS Enterprise-A. A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Mccoy formed a close friendship with Captain James T. Kirk as well as a semi-friendly relationship with Kirk's first officer, Spock, despite many disagreements with the Vulcan.
