The fourth film in the Die Hard franchise, and the first one to be rated PG-13. In this go-round, John McClane takes on hackers intent on causing nationwide chaos with a "fire sale", an attack that targets the nation's computer controlled infrastructure.
Trivia:

Being the only PG-13 entry in the Die Hard series, the classic line "Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker" in this film is slightly edited at the word "fucker" by a will-timed gun shot.

Reception

Live Free or Die Hard received mostly positive reviews, being compared to Rocky Balboa as a final go for a franchise done right by IGN. However, it received criticism for Timothy Olyphant's performance, which was called less memorable than the other villains of the franchise ( Alan Rickman, William Sadler, Jeremy Irons).

The film is the highest grossing of the franchise.
