Logan's Run (2014)

Logan’s Run, based on a 1967 novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson, depicts a future society where people are selectively killed once they reach a certain age. Those who attempt to flee are deemed as runners and a group of enforcers known as Sandmen are charged with stopping them. Logan 5 is a Sandman who is forced to become a runner and discovers the real truth about their society along the way.

The film has been in production limbo for several years but has recently gotten a breath of fresh air with the announcement that commercial filmmaker, and Ridley Scott protege, Carl Erik Rinsch was hired to direct and screenwriter Alex Garland was brought on board to write the script in June of 2010.

The film is also a remake of the 1976 film Logan's Run starring Michael York.
