dammit, the end of season 3 is mindblowing.

I'm watching through LOST for the first time on netflix and just wrapped up the season 3 finale "Through the Looking Glass". I just want to gush about how brilliant the whole thing was, especially the buildup to the end in which a bearded Jack desperately tells Kate that they "made a mistake" and "have to go back", revealing that the flashbacks were, in fact, flash forwards. That seriously sent me reeling, and the fact that the show can still pull off a mind-blowing twist like that despite all the insane shit that's happening is pretty great.
I'm really impressed with the show so far. I'd heard things got a bit bumpy after season one, and there are some rough episodes here and there to be sure, but I think the overall quality is high enough that the bad episodes never drag the show down too much. So much intrigue and mystery wrapped around some fascinating characters...it must've been a lot of fun to watch the show as it aired and go crazy speculating with everyone else; it seemed like everyone was watching it back then. Then again, it would suck to have to wait for months at a time to get answers. Tomorrow, I start season 4!

I am man enough to admit that Through the Looking Glass is one of the few instances in TV or movies that has made me tear up. That "Not Penny's Boat" scene is just so incredibly powerful. Man, I really miss that show.

Season 4 has some pretty great stuff in it, including what I think is the single best episode of the show's entire run: 'The Constant'.

Yes, that was a fantastic scene. Unfortunately, I think I was spoiled as to the fate of Charlie...I need to be more careful about avoiding spoilers from here out.

@ashogo: Yeah, it has to be tough to avoid Lost spoilers at this point. I'm actually pretty impressed that you've made it this long without having everything ruined for you.

@CashBailey: Yep, for sure. That episode is actually one of the other moments that has made me tear up.

While I do think that Season 3 of Lost is, by far, its worst season, Through the Looking Glass is a fantastic episode of television.
Lost is an amazing show, and I've been meaning to rewatch it. There's just some stuff that I've completely forgotten,

KATE!!! WE HAVE TO GO BACK!!!!

I wish the complete box set didn't cost so much. Would love to go back through the entire show again.

I miss Lost. =(

@shadowsdreaming: you could consider getting an $8 subscription to netflix streaming, they have the entire show up. If you're in the US, that is.

@Red: Well that's heartening. If season 3 is the worst, then I have a lot left to look forward to.

Oh man, I agree. I have the complete Blu-Ray boxset and just started on season 4. That shit's addictive and great!

@ashogo: There's just a lot of filler, and they kind of ran out of stuff to say about the characters midway through.
