Emerson and O&squot;Quinn in their new primetime drama "Substitute Dads"
Emerson and O'Quinn in their new primetime drama "Substitute Dads"
Michael Emerson has confirmed to the Associated Press that he and Terry O'Quinn are indeed in the market for TV show ideas. The two LOST stars, who played Ben Linus and John Locke, respectively, are both nominated for Best Supporting Actor Emmys for LOST's final season.

According to the AP:

Emerson says they both want something more lighthearted than "Lost." He hopes the show can acknowledge their "age and frailty." Emerson says he envisions a show where, if their characters get hit in the face, they "don't get up for a month."

I  love it. I really hope something happens here.

Maybe people liked Emerson's over acting as Ben Linus in LOST but I honestly could not stand him passed his reveal in season 2.  I'll always remember the part when someone's telling him about Desmond's boat and his voice cracks when he asks "How?"  Completely uninterested in whatever they're doing.  LOST's full run has completely soured me on all the actors involved.

I hope that Emerson is the straight-laced uptight one, and O'Quinn is the irreverent, devil-may-care slob.  And then they beat each other like every episode.

Both actors have great range. Any perceived overacting was more than likely a stylistic choice for an over the top show. A voice cracking in one scene? really?

Anyway, completely interested in what they are doing. Terry O'Quinn has been a favorite actor of mine since The Stepfather. Both him and Emerson can convey heartbreaking vulnerability and extreme menace, sometimes both in the same scene!

I vote for aging Private Eyes.

Wow. I believe you are the first person I've seen with such an intense dislike for Michael Emerson.

Wait, so.... they just said they want jobs? Or is there some sort of partnership/ production thing going on?

Ben Linus as a helpful, fatherly teacher was one of the best moments in the entire series. Me likes.

Same here. Also, I can understand Lost souring somebody on the writers of the show, but don't get pissed at the actors. That's just absurd.

Anyway, I really hope this pans out. I'd watch the shit out of a dramatic comedy series starring these guys. They had great chemistry on Lost, and O'Quinn is one of my favorite TV actors.

I've actually heard this awhile back ago. The show the Emerson and O'Quinn that they hope to do is about retried hitmen living the suburbs. I don't know if it's true or not but if it is I Can't wait to see it. Hell, No matter the show they are hoping to make I'm going to watch it anyway. They were one of the BEST things about LOST.
