Whether you liked or disliked the finale of Lost, the good news is that there's more Lost coming your way. The bad news is that you'll have to plunk down $230.00 to get it. According to Slashfilm, Michael Emerson (the actor who plays Ben) revealed the following to Attack of the Show. SPOILERS:

For those people that want to pony up and buy the complete Lost series, there is a bonus feature, which is…you could call it an epilogue. A lost scene. It’s a lot. It’s 12 or 14 minutes that opens a window onto that gap of unknown time between Hurley becoming number one and the end of the series. It’s self-contained, although it’s a rich period in the show’s mythology that ‘s never been explored, so who knows what will come of it.

Wow. I know a number of gamers who complain about story-relevant DLC, but man, this seems like it might be even worse. If there's a silver lining to all this, it's that this little epilogue will no doubt be spread far and wide over the internet after the DVD set is released, but still, one can hope that ABC will be nice and classy and host it on their website.

We all know it'll be available on Pirate Bay one day before it's released, so why even bother to complaint?

The aim of the  article, as you so poetically put it, is not to complaint, it is to inform. Inform us, in fact, with more proof - of how far the Lost writers heads are up their own asses.

@DirrtyNinja: In my own defense, I wasn't necessarily talking about this article but about all the bitching which will surely ensue from all the Lost fanboys.

If that extra 20 minutes really does provide some insight into the mythology and answers some questions, then leaving it out of the finale was a despicable thing to do to the fans.

So, is it a pilot of the spinoff four-camera sitcom featuring Ben, Hurley, Desmond and Vincent, or what?

That's fine with me, I was planning on buying it, and if you aren't it'll be up on the internet all over the place for free, so more LOST can only be a good thing.

Does anyone realize...you can just buy the final season dvd to get the extra scene. You don't need to buy the whole series...although I will be

There should be an audio track on all the episodes that adds a laugh track.

It's a marketing ploy and will probably not reveal much we don't already know or have speculated about. The series stands by itself, but a lil extra Lost is a great thing. I like it. I'll Buy it.

I was going to buy it anyway, so for me this is a non-issue.  But for everyone that WASN'T going to buy it, that sucks. Hopefully, like the article says, ABC will put it on their site.

But even if it is, most Lost fans will still bitch because they just love having something to bitch about, like not getting every inane, unimportant question they ever had answered. I liked Lost, but the idiot fanbase makes me hesitate to call myself a "Lost fan".

What's that? You''re a loyal fan who has been giving us money every year for the past few years for these DVDs? Guess what, sucker, now you have to buy them all over again.

I'm looking forward to this. Glad I restrained myself from buying any of the DVD sets until now.

@wrecks:  At least for my part as a fan who is at least a little peeved at the ending, it's not so much that the finale didn't answer questions, it's that the show built up the mythology up until the last 15 minutes just to suddenly decide the character drama part was more important, that it should be resolved in the most saccharine way possible, and that that resolution should actually make the mythology and answers utterly irrelevant. I respect that they picked a direction and committed to it, I'm just not nuts with the idea that a really awesome universe was just sort of blinked out of existence in lieu of a cliched cast-smiling-and-hugging-in-a-room-together ending.

No apparently this is part of the extra disk with 2 hours of bonus content that will only come with the complete series collection.

I am with you I own every season and bought them as they came out so they are giving a big "fuck you" to the big fans that have been supporting the damn show since day 1.  This is the biggest sham ever.  I'm not spending $230 for something that I've already spent $200 for.

I might consider buying this if all the seasons weren't already available on Netflix if I ever do decide to watch the series again. But yeah, that's pretty lame. But at the same time, I really want to see it.
