Obviously there's going to be some damn spoilers if you're reading this thread, so if you haven't caught up yet or watched Tuesdays episode, stop reading now.

Although obviously the writers of this show are going to throw everything for a loop in the finale, I wouldn't be surprised if we wound up with Locke getting killed somehow, only for everyone to discover that there must always be a Man In Black and Sawyer taking up the role somehow. Series ends with Jack (as the protector) and Sawyer sitting on the beach watching everyone else fly away, knowing that they'll be playing out everything that's happened to them in the future when another group of crash survivors finds themselves on the island.

That, at least, is my prediction. Will it wind up happening? Who the hell knows at this point. I guess we'll all find out on Sunday!

My prediction is that Desmond is going to go all failsafe on us and be thrown in pool of light, thus destroying the Island. The writer's will change up the details a little, but right now that is only story element that I see that could explain how the flash-sideways exist.

Oh PS; I liked your guy's remake showdown.

If there must be a man in black, then perhaps it was the previous one who appeared in the past episode as the dead mom to corrupt the young man in black.

I like the Sawyer as the new man in black theory, but honestly, I don't think they've done enough to set up Sawyer as truly evil enough to be Jack's nemesis. His desire to get the hell off the island certainly seems to suggest something fucked will happen to him, but I don't think it'll be that.

Things I'm wondering about:
  • Claire wasn't in the last two episodes at all. How is she going to factor into this clash between the man in black and Jack?
  • We know Desmond is going to factor heavily into whatever happens, but I feel like his "fail safe" thing might be a bit of a red herring. It seems like man in black isn't as worried as he should be about him?
  • Linus is totally just playing along until he finds the right time to strike against man in black, right? His revenge against Whitmore seems like the last seemingly evil thing to check off his list before doing something vaguely heroic.
  • No way Richard is actually dead. No body = no dead. He'll play a part in the finale.
  • I am still totally baffled by how all the flash-sideways stuff is going to wrap up. It does seem like we're in for some kind of clash between Desmond/Kate and Eloise.

I AM STUPID EXCITED FOR THIS EPISODE OF TELEVISION.

THe island will explode with desmond creating the sideways universe
Post by mega_dickhead (59 posts) See mini bio
i am thinking that because the people in the sidways flashes are starting to become aware of the happening on the island
i think that everyone on the island will die apart from jack and sawyer who will take up the rolls of the protector and the man in black
and everyone in the real world will remeber everthing that happened on the island
THE END finaly

What if in the flash sideways, Claire births twins?
Or, what if Claire births "the man in black" and Walt has Jacob's powers. White v Black, but inverted I guess.

Secondly, I'm getting a feeling that Desmond is making a Donnie Darko like incident to get back on the island. Maybe the two worlds will become one.

It bothers me they can bring Ana Lucia back but not Mr.Eko. But I guess she has nothing going for her currently.

@HypoXenophobia:  I think Mr. Eko (I'll be damned if I'm going to look up the spelling of his real name) left the show under less-than-good terms.

Edit: I lied, it looks like he asked to be written out after both of his parents died. Now I feel bad.

Regarding Linus, I hope they explain why he thought his daughter was safe.  I assume that it was the man in black who was communicating with linus and widmore all the time, since Jacob always used Richard.

Is it bad I want the alternate reality to become the real reality in the end? After everything that has happened over the past few years it'd be nice if the characters could actually get that happily ever after ending, I feel bad for 'em.

Of course I know that probably won't happen, as for what I do think will actually happen I have no idea. I learned a long time ago it's damn pointless to try and make an actual theory as to what will happen on Lost so I stopped even caring and just decided to sit along for the ride.

Also EDIT: I guess it was sorta obvious but there is going to be a big meet up in the alternate universe which should be fun. Desmond and Hurley are getting others ready and I am just gonna go off a limb and say it's the "concert" Jack's son will be playing at that night. Though I am not sure how Locke, Jin/Sun, or Ben and Co. will end up there yet, I am sure they will think of something clever.

@Rorie:
Yeah, I was a bit upset when I heard the news. He has such a great presence when on the screen, whether as Eko or as Adebisi  on Oz.

Incidentally, thing I just realized. We haven't seen who Jack's former wife in the flash-sideways is at all yet. Juliette?
Post by Feser (359 posts) See mini bio
@Alex:
It would have to be Juliet as she hasn't been seen at all in the Flash-sideways. And who is Sawyer's love interest going to be established as (I really doubt they won't give him one)?
Post by mosdl (96 posts) See mini bio
I nominate Mr Friendly as the "wife"!

I don't think anybody left would make a good Man in Black type character except Ben and Whitmore and even then how are you going to write it in(I know it appears Whitmore is dead)?  If they have anybody take over that role it is going to take some fancy writing or it will ruin the ending and Sawyer won't work as a bad character anymore.  He is probably even more likable than Jack has been over the last couple of seasons.

Well, Season 6 opened by showing us the island was submerged underwater in the flashsideways. It wouldn't surprise me if in the real universe, the island ends up exactly like that - well and truly sunk, killing everyone remaining on it. Given that the plane has still not been destroyed yet, and because we've not seen Lapidus' dead body yet, I reckon a few folks will escape on the plane before the island is sunk.

We've been told that there is little chance of a Lost spin-off or movie, so it sounds reasonable to me that there will be some sort of finality in the series finale. Seeing the island destroyed would bring a proper sense of closure.

In the flashsideways, Juliet will most likely be revealed as David's mother, and the group of core Losties could very well come to recognise each other from their real lives. I have no idea how that's going to tie up with the real universe, though.

The final scene in the show will play as follows.

Jack: "Hey Man in Black"

Man in Black: "What?"

Jack: (shoots the Man in Black with revolver) "Get Lost!"

(Cut to Lost logo)

EDIT: OH, OH, OH! I GOT ANOTHER ONE

(Jack heads the entire cast of Lost, both living and dead, against the man in black)

Jack: We've lived together....

(Jack shoots Man in Black with revolver)

Jack: Now YOU die alone!

(Cut to Lost logo)

Locke is thrown into a submarine, and is locked inside. He looks around and notices 19 DIFFERENT THEMED LOCKE CLONES. Thereafter, all the clones have an overblown, over gratuitous fight to the death. In the end, they all kill each other, and the final 2 kill each other at the same time. This causes a warp in time, as well as the original Locke getting stuck in said warp. Now, in order to escape, he has to undo all the events that resulted in everyone getting to the island in the first place. This leads us to the TV Spin-Off; LOCKED IN TIME!

I fixed it for you-
