Charlie says: "Buy my song, dammit."
Charlie says: "Buy my song, dammit."
Things have officially come full-circle for me: I started out as a game journalist, took a job doing PR for Harmonix on their Rock Band video games, and now I'm a writer posting about Rock Band song releases. Sigh...

But lo! Relevance! Two songs featured over the course of LOST's lengthy run, "You All Everybody" by Charlie's alt. rock band Driveshaft, and "Dharma Lady" by Geronimo Jackson, are now available for download in Rock Band via Harmonix's Rock Band Network platform. Both songs cost a mere $0.99 each.

I will totally play the shit out of "You All Everybody." What about you folks?

Seeing as though I've never watched LOST, I'm kinda lost.

I want to sing you all everybody NAO.

I want the diaper commercial version, though.

If they were free like that Colbert song, it may have been worth it for the novelty.

Saw the gameplay video on youtube for You All Everybody.  Boring as HELL.  Dharma Lady isn't half bad, actually.   Here ya go:

Sure! This seems like the best time to have these songs anyway.

You "All" Everybody?  I thought he was singing, You "Are" Everybody...

I would say that, You "All" Everybody, makes no sense...  but it was Lost...  so in that respect it makes total sense.

Once you start doing PR for Harmonix, you can never stop doing PR for Harmonix.

I swear, I thought the same thing until this post but I wasn't going to say anything.

I think I'll get "You All Everybody" purely for the novelty value. "Dharma Lady" is a maybe.

The lyrics in "You All Everybody" come from some lady in the audience of a daytime talkshow like Jerry Springer that one of the writers saw. She said to the guests "You all everybody actin' like you're stupid people, wearin' expensive clothes." They thought it would be funny to make that the lyrics to Driveshaft's hit song. That's why it makes no sense.

At least, that's what they said on the DVD commentary for the first episode.

Every time this thread gets bumped I start singing You All Everybody in my head and sometimes it comes out and my wife is really happy about that.

Dharma Lady is actually really fun and totally worth the buck they're charging on RBN. You All Everybody is pretty simple and repetitive, but I guess for a dollar it's worth getting if you're a Lost fan.

I wonder if they'll be paying Noel Gallagher any royalties as 'You All Everybody' is a direct rip-off of Oasis' 'Rock and Roll Star'.
