I think it looks awesome. I'm pretty sure Nolan has Snyder on a tight leash thanks to Warner Brothers, they don't want to mess this one up. High hopes here!

I don't mind the scaly armor. At least that way the exotic texture makes it more believable that his suit comes from Krypton and is actually as resistant as it is descried in the comics.

I really can't tell that much from a picture with this much photoshop and artistic illustration.  I need to see real photos from the set to get a reasonable feel for this new Superman.

The new origin story for Supermans costume is that it was made from the scales of a dragon.

The hair does look pretty dumb, but the suit seems okay. They seem to be going a little bit of the armor route like they will be in the DC relaunch in September. I'm still cautiously optimistic that this thing will be good.

But, I guess less scales for Captain America leaves more scales for Superman.

Look at that subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it

I hope the actual movie isn't as desaturated as that image.

Maybe this Superman is a mild-mannered reporter and usual superhero who defeats Zod and stuff, but then 3/4ths through, he just flips and starts killing EVERYBODY, all set to Huey Lewis which he blasts out of a speaker system he flys around with him.

I hope for once they treat Clark as the real identity and Superman as the disguise because it's about time the movies portrayed him correctly.

Clark Kent is the disguise that is meant to protect the identity of superman, not the other way around.

Yup. There's no Wayne-Batman conflict.

No, it used to be like that but after John Byrne's Man of Steel comic in 1986 Clark became the real identity and Superman became disguise. He's even said it himself to Lois in the comics when she discovered his identity. She said he was really Superman, and his reply was "No Lois, I'm Clark Kent". Smallville also showed that Clark was the real identity so the movies should as well.

That's because Bruce Wayne ceased to exist after the death of his parents and from then on he became Batman; and just used Bruce Wayne as a disguise. He can never go back to a normal life because who he really is is Batman.

Looks creepy. Horay for every movie being a darker reboot of a tired franchise.

It look's like chainmail armor to me.

At least Superman doesn't look like this:

Or this:

I like the suit. hard to tell from this far away how the scales will look though. Love Zach Snyder, and Nolan is helping out, so yeah, I have high hopes.

But didn't Mark waid's Superman: Birthright (which apparently is inspiration for this new movie) bring back the Clark Kent as disguise to the comics Superman?

Regardless, I don't see how Superman can be a disguise of any kind. How does taking your glasses off disguise you? It's a reveal, not a disguise.

I don't know if you watched the final season but they hit it really hard on the head that superman is the real person and the dweeb with glasses and who stumbles is the disguise.

There've been multiple reboots since John Byrne's Man of Steel. Mark Waid's Birthright went back to the idea of Clark as his disguise.

And Smallville... Smallville fucking sucked.
