I haven't heard of most of these movies. The Raid looks really good.
My little brother saw John Carter and he liked it.
I didn't know a lot of these were coming out. I want to see a lot of those, but if I had to pick one I'd say The Hunger Games. I was surprised by how good the books were and really want to see what they are going to do with it.
Hunger Games- I'm dragging my book club along with me.
Rorie's commentary for these just gets better and better.
John Carter
i already seen The Hunger Games.... it was called Battle Royale.
Wrath of the Titans, although I'm interested in the hunger games
Not too interested with any of the wide release stuff... I think Hunger Games is interesting, but the PG-13 rating is a turn off. That Will Ferrell spanish movie might be fun to track down.
21 Jump Street looks alright, I love Will Ferrell but not sure if I could watch him in a Spanish movie.
John Carter. Definitely looks like a great movie.
John Carter will probably be excellent.
John Carter is from the same director as Wall.E? And McNulty is in it?
Seriously, which marketing firm completely shit the bed with that film? Up until now I thought the entire film was CG from the cutting room floor of the Star Wars prequels, but also starring Jesus.
goon!
The Hunger Games is the one I would see if I could only pick one. Wrath of the Titans does look decently which is shocking considering my hatred for Clash of the Titans.
Hunger Games is the only movie I've come into the month interested in, though that's just from reading the books. I'm actually interested to see if the movies can flesh out the world more, as I thought the books had good characters but the world wasn't really well constructed.
The other big releases all look pretty bad.
Twitter buzz amongst film critics say John Carter is pretty fantastic. I think the marketing has been absolutely terrible, however, especially the decision to name it simply John Carter as opposed to John Carter of Mars, or Warlord of Mars, or any number of other things that don't sound like they're about a high school basketball coach.
@Beanpants:
Disney is terrified of the word mars.
John Carter. I know the marketing has been awful (when the best trailer for your movie is a fan edit on YouTube, you've fucked up), but after hearing critics talk about the movie, I'm excited. As if Andrew Stanton wasn't enough, I'm curious to see how well Pixar does with live-action CGI (I'm a bit of a whore when it comes to the history of visual effects).
I never go to movies anymore. I usually just wait for Blu-Ray. The last time I sat down in a theater was to see Spiderman 3 (process that however you will).
But I'm gonna go see John Carter. It strikes me as one of those types of movies where the big screen will add something to the adventure and it just looks like it could be really fun. I hope so anyway.
