Marvel/Disney are apparently negotiating with 20th Century Fox over the film rights to be relinquished back to Marvel in order to have an extension over the rights of Daredevil. Fox wants to put Joe Carnahan in the director's chair for the film, replacing David Slade, and apparently they think the value of Daredevil is greater than that of the Fantastic Four. Given the fact that FF got a sequel while Daredevil did not, is a bit perplexing. However, this would put Marvel in a happier situation to have another of their franchises under their creative control again. I'm in favour of Marvel getting another of their properties the treatment they probably deserve, because that's one of the defining features of the films they produce, but I'm still wary that Marvel could possibly over saturate the market with superhero movies and then the superhero box office balloon will pop.
All I ask Marvel to keep Josh Trank involved with Fantastic Four because that seems like a brilliant idea. And though I wasn't a huge fan of the first Daredevil, I like the choice of Carnahan. He's a director that has talent, The Grey is one of my favorite films of the year, but he isn't a director that has done well consistency.
