MASH (1970)

Edit this Page
Robert Altman Director previously directed Countdown

Stuck in the middle of the Korean War, Hawkeye Pierce, Trapper John, and the rest of the M*A*S*H 4077th play practical jokes upon one another to deflect the horrors of war. Led to a highly successful TV spin off.

Trivia:

Of the five Oscars it was nominated for, MASH won only the Oscar for adopted screenplay. This is ironic as screenwriter Ring Lardner Jr. expressed much disappointment about how little of his script was used.
