A standoff with at least two people ready to kill each other with guns drawn. The appeal of these standoffs is the fact that their outcome is unpredictable.
Although commonly believed to require three or more participants, a Mexican Standoff is defined as a situation in which neither side can forcibly win. The parties on either side threaten each other, but neither is able to solve the situation through violence.
