Neil Jordan Director previously directed Interview with the Vampire

The movie is a dramatised look at the Irish war of independence against the British concentrating on the divide between the rebels during the war. Jordan truly represents the period well showing the tension between the idealistic republicans and their unrealistic expectations. The movie, while showing the period, isn't historically accurate.

Overview:

A biographical film that follows the Irish revolutionary Michael Collins, played by Liam Neeson, as he dodges British cruelty and occupation all the way to Ireland getting its own government and the subsequent Irish Civil War. It shows the turmoil within the Irish revolutionary government as well as their struggles against British rule.
