Mila Kunis is an American actress who first came to fame in the Fox series 'That 70's Show'. Since then she has starred in very successful films such as 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall' and 'Black Swan', for which she was Golden Globe nominated.
Mila Kunis was born in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic to parents Elvira and Mark Kunis. In 1991 her family moved to the Los Angeles after winning a lottery that allowed them to move from the Ukraine to Moscow, and then from Moscow to the United States. Within her first week living in America she was enrolled in Rosewood Elementary School despite the fact fact that she did not know a single word in English. After Rosewood Elementary she was enrolled at both Hubert Howe Bancroft Middle School and then Fairfax High School.
Her acting career started when she was only nine years old. She began taking acting lessons and met her long-term agent, Susan Curtis, at the Beverly Hills Studios. After taking lessons her acting career was started by her appearances in commercials for products such as Mattel's Barbie and Lisa Frank supplies. Beyond commercials, her first TV appearance was on Days of our Lives, and her first movie credit was Santa with Muscles. In 1998 she told casting directors for That 70's Show that she would be 18, since all actors were required to be 18 despite the fact the she was only 14, and was cast in the role of Jackie Berkhart. A year after she was cast for That 70's Show she was also chosen to replace Lacey Chabert as the voice actor for Meg in the Fox animated sitcom Family Guy.
Following her entrance to television, Mila began acting in full-length films. Many of the movies she starred in were either poorly reviewed, Tony n' Tina's Wedding, or direct to DVD, American Psycho 2. This was a trend that continued until her role as Rachel Jansen in the 2008 film Forgetting Sarah Marshall. This film received positive reviews and was a commercial success which lead to a greater number of acting positions being opened up to her. After Forgetting Sarah Marshall, she played Mona Sax in Max Payne. Despite the fact that she underwent quite a bit of training in both firearms and martial arts, she was not as well received in this movie, and many critics felt that she was miscast in the role of a Russian assassin. After her two 2008 films, she starred in Extract along side Ben Affleck in 2009, and The Book of Eli along with Denzel Washington.
