I think with Ethan being framed to different levels of importance in every film bar MI:2 so far, I think that it's pretty unusual that the IMF keep taking him back no questions asked. He has to turn out as a secret bad guy in the next one.

Cannot wait! Glad to see a Christmas with more than one good movie!

@Mr_skeleton: that's one of the worst things i've ever heard.

There were too many bad gags for this to be a 5 star movie. Eventually I just stopped caring about everything because it felt more like a comedy than a spy thriller.

Just came back from the theater and LOVED IT! I am so glad that we finally have a great action movie that doesn't use the stupid shaky cam for every action shot. Feels like it's the first one in the last ten years!

Also I noticed something...

When Ethan goes to the arm dealer in Dubai, he meets a guy on the docks that gives him a wool hood. If you look closely you will notice that the guy on the docs is Andreas Wisniewski who played Max assistant in the first Mission Impossible (tall guy with long blond hairs...he also played one of the bad guy in the first Die Hard). And the hood is actually a black hood with the eyes sewed with red strings, EXACTLY like the hood used in the first movie when they go see Max. It's a nice cameo but I was a bit dissapointed that they didn't actually go see Max. Would have been nice to have a Vanessa Redgrave cameo!

I couldn't agree more, Alex. I just saw it today and it was one of my favorite cinema experiences of the year.

I really loved the third Mission Impossible movie, and thoroughly enjoyed this new one as well. The Batman teaser was also quite good.

So it is actually a good movie? For a sec', I feared they were rushing it...

Alright, from the sounds of this review, this looks like another well made flick. I specially loved the 3rd one.^^

Wow, when I first saw the trailer of Ghost Protocol I was thinking "Man, I am so sick of Mission Impossible by now; this looks dumb." But now that it's getting some of the highest scores and praise out of any MI film to date, and one of the best scores this year, I may have to re-think this. Suffice it to say, I'm really quite surprised.

Continuity errors FTW. Tom's face would go from slightly bruised and bloodied to perfect straight out of wardrobe in no time. It was one hell of an advertisement, and really showcased the diversity of Apple products.

I enjoyed it quite a bit, but found myself laughing at how stupid the film could be at time. Still best Mission Impossible IMO

Fun movie with no second time value. Worst in the serie in my opinion. 3/5

This movie was generic beyond believe and left me bored during the whole two hours. They should have called it Meh-ssion Impossible. And Five stars really? Giving this film 5 stars is like putting the championship belt on David Arquette. Just shouldn't happen.

Took my mum to watch it for her birthday and we both had a really good time with it. Best MI film to current date, with odd stupid bits in here and there. It's a regular Tom Cruise movie, as in, if it isn't over-the-top then it's not a Tome Cruise action movie. This sounds like a negative, in this case it isn't.

I really don't know what people see in this movie. The characterization and plot were incredibly shallow and poorly done. It felt like it was written during the Cold War. The only redeeming quality I found was that some of the actions sequences were pretty flashy but even that was marred by how over the top and unrealistic a lot of the stunts were. I can suspend disbelief up to a point but when a movie breaks the laws of physics in such extreme ways while also having characters, such as an elderly man, acting like indestructible tanks it just becomes stupid.

I just watched this ... and it is beyond me how anyone could like this movie. The plot is dumb, the villian makes no sense, the action is medicore at best ... how on earth did this get 5 stars?
