Not what I was expecting (plus spoilery question about ending)

I think people will be disappointed if they see this expecting District 9 type shenanigans but it was a really interesting film. It's more like a meandering travelogue than an alien invasion film but I enjoyed it a lot. It's good to see what they can produce with a tiny budget. Keeping things hidden builds suspense and saves money!

I'm pretty sure though that.....

the beginning segment is the end of the film as you hear the soldiers theme tune and it looks to be the same actors lying on the ground - the girl definitely. OR...that is how the girl ends up in hospital to begin with?
