It's a shame so few people have seen Mountain Patrol: Kekexili, it's really a great film. It's a true story about the dedication of a handful of individuals who give up everything to live in complete solitude most of the time and risk their lives, mostly unpaid in what seems like a doomed venture - protecting the wildlife of Tibet from poachers.

The cinematography is incredible, and it captures the beauty, danger and desperation of life in the remotest place on earth short of Antarctica. The tale is at times incredibly depressing and at other times incredibly uplifting. It's like an action/adventure film, but it's not nearly as two-dimensional as most in that genre. It demonstrates the inhumanity the 'Mountain Patrol' has to stoop to to do it's job, and the complex causes of the situation. And even how at times bitter enemies have to rely on each other to survive in such an environment.

This is a must see film - highly recommended!
