Muppets Tonight was an attempt to return to form with The Muppets. Much like the original Muppet Show, Muppets Tonight was a variety show that featured music numbers and guest celebrities. Unlike The Muppet Show; guests rarely appeared throughout the course of an episode are were more or less brief cameos.
