Mystique

Background

Mystique is a shape shifting mutant. Mainly allying herself with Magneto she is a skilled assassin and mimic. She uses her shape shifting ability to infiltrate areas in order to steal information to help further her or Magnetos goals.

She is the mother to Nightcrawler and adopted mother of Rogue.

Major Plots

X-Men First Class

Raven Dakholme is found by a young Charles Xavier after she broke into his mansion looking for food.Initially she tried to fool Xavier by posing as his mother but his psychic abilities ended the ruse. Happy to see a fellow mutant Xavier let her stay with him always together traveling as Charles became a doctor in genetics. While in London they posed as brother and sister much to her dismay sometimes. She joins the newly found mutants and Erik Lensher at the CIA headquarters and later at the mansion.

X-Men First Class

While at the mansion she develops a slight relationship with Hank McCoy. McCoy uses a sample of her blood to create a serum to suppress their mutated appearances. While studying her blood he also discovers that she ages half as fast if not slower than normal humans. When she is finally given the serum though she rejects it and goes to Magnetos bedroom waiting for him in his bead. Erik rejects her though but perhaps in a couple of years he than gets her to regress to her mutant blue form which he claims is beautiful. He than encourages her to be proud of her beauty turning her into a slight nudist.

At the Cuban missile crisis she helps take out Azazel by pretending to be Sebastian Shaw giving beast enough time to knock him out. After Magneto decieds to leave Charles Mystique follows with Xaviers blessing knowing its what she really wanted.

X-Men

X-Men

As a part of Magnetos Brotherhood she was his perfect soldier and second in command. Using her shape shifting ability she infiltrates the Senator Kellys helicopter and proceeds to kidnap him bring him to Magnetos secrete base. From there she helps assist Magneto in using his machine that mutates humans into mutants. After the Senators escape she goes undercover in the Xavier school blending in. Posing as Bobby Drake she convinces Rogue that the students are scared of her for using her powers on Wolverine. She gets Rogue to leave sending her to the train station where Magneto and the reamining Brotherhood are waiting.While the X-Men were out she poses as Professor X and booby traps Cerebro so that the next time he uses it he will be put into a coma.

She participates in taking of Ellis Island killing most of the guards. When the X-Men arrive she has a battle with Wolverine and shows off the ability to mimic his claws though they are no where near as sharp or durable. She later impersonates Storm but Wolverine stabs her since she can not mask her sent. Believed dead she shows up impersonating the dead Seantor Kelly.

X-2: X-Men United

X2

Posing as Seantor Kelly she becomes aware of William Stryker and the whereabouts of Magnetos plastic prison. Later posing as Strykers assistant she gets into his computer seeing his multiple files on various mutants as well as plans for a "Dark Cerebro". With all the information needed she poses as a girl in the bar and drugs one of Magnetos guards with a large injection of iron. Magneto uses the increased iron to break out of his prison greeting Mystique at the door.

The freed pair find the X-Men on the run from Stryker and the US Goverment. At night sneaking into Wolverines tent she tries to seduce him under the guise of Jean Grey but is revealed when he feels the scars she has from when he stabbed her. She than proceeds to question who he wants morphing into various X Women but ending on Styrker. Logan kicks her out of her tent soon after. Nightcrawler approaches her asking why she perfers to be nude in her blue form and not masked looking completely normal. She replies with "Because we shouldn't have to."

When the alliance moves on Alkali Lake she impersonates Wolverine getting into the facility though not completely fooling Stryker. After freeing captured mutants she leads the team to the Dark Cerebro room and helps Magneto in forcing Charles to kill the humans instead of mutants, though its foiled. Mystiqe escapes on a helicopter along with Magneto and Pyro forming a new brotherhood. 

Depowered in X-Men: The Last Stand

After the Alkali lake incident she lets herself be captured by the government as a way to gain information on the way a pharmaceutical company has developed a cure. Magneto with the help of mutants he has gotten to join him frees her along with Juggernaut and several other mutants. One of the guards though fires a cure dart which she jumps in front of taking away her mutant power leaving her a plain naked human. Magneto than leaves her since she is no longer one of them. Out of spite or a deeper plan with Magneto she goes to the goverment giving information as to his whereabouts in the forest. When the special forces go in though it is revealed to be Multiple Man with many of his clones. It is unknown if her powers return like Magnetos at the end.

X-Men (TV Series)

She appears as an ally to many evil mutants throughout the series mainly working with Apocalypse and Magneto. She helps Apocalypse transform several mutants into his horseman. She latter betrays him working with Magneto to defeat him. Her back story is also further developed with the revelation that she is the mother of Nightcrawler who she gave up after he was born and the adoptive mother of Rogue. She trained Rogue to use her powers to steal information this also led to Rogue stealing Ms. Marvels powers permanently putting her in a coma. She later appears after being captured by Graydon Creed her son with Sabertooth who is a mutant hating leader of the Friends of Humanity.

X-Men Evolution

In X-Men Evolution she is Magnetos second in command and leader of her own Brotherhood of Mutants who she enrolls in her school.She helps further Magnetos plans and battles Professor X several times. It is also revealed that she is the mother of Nightcrawler and adoptive mother to Rogue. Throughout the show she shows genuine care for her children but will manipulate them into furthering her own goals. In the third season she is turned to stone after unlocking one of the doors sealing Apocalypse. Mystique later dies as Rogue in a fit of rage throws the statute Mystiqe of a cliff breaking her into thousands of pieces.Apocalypse takes her and turns her into one of his horseman after his defeat she tries to apologize to her children but is rejected by both of them.

Days of Future Past

Mystique once again works for Magneto in the US and on Genosha. She infiltrates and spies on the X-Men for Magneto as well as infiltrating high ranking positions looking into the Sentinel project. It is revealed that she had a past relationship with Wolverine and was his lover but refuses to tell him of his past fearing it would change him. Under Magnetos orders she kidnaps Senator Kelly and impersonates him unleashing Sentinels upon Genosha allowing Magneto to stop them and reprogram them to attack humans.

Personality and Traits

X-Men First Class

Mystique is generally manipulative and treacherous by nature. She may love her children but has no problem manipulating them or anyone to further her or her masters goals. Even though she is trecherous she is shown to be fiercely loyal to Magneto and his end goals.

In the movies she is show to be a nudist preferring to go without clothes in her natural form since she doesn't feel the need to blend in and conform with society.
