Few enough surprises in the 2012 Razzie nominations, except perhaps if you don't consider Adam Sandler to be perhaps the most toxic cultural force in American society today. All good people feel that way, though, and you are certainly a good person since you read Screened, you're in our boat. Sandler managed to "win" the game of nominations this year, with 11, more than double the previous record for most nominations in a single year, previously held by Eddie Murphy with five.
None of the rest of the nominations are particularly surprising, and it's nice to see that someone else is not quite on the Ken Jeong bandwagon that's so hip nowadays. Any of the rest of the categories below surprise you? Anyone going to stand up to defend the honor of Nic Cage?

The worst part is that it doesn't matter to Sandler because he will continue to make money for the foreseeable future.
Bucky Larson should get the award for the most murder/suicide educing ad campaign.
And he still makes a shit load of money cause a shit load of people still go see his movies.

Even more of a reason he should focus on quality instead of dross. I mean, "Happy Gilmore" was a genuinely good film and he's only gone downhill from there. Can only imagine he's surrounded by yes men and has no idea what real folks find funny.
bwahahahaha!
Those are the "fun" awards :P
Hangover Part 2?
I liked that movie. I didn't know it was supposed to be bad.

It was a joke. the whole (sequel and remake!) thing was pointing out that it's the same movie.
@vinsanityv22: I agree that Transformers and Twilight are there just as easy joke targets. Not that they are good, but compared with "Jack & Jill" and "Bucky Larson" they are fairly decent.
The nominations in the Razzie feel more safe than the nominations in the Oscars. I guess no one will jump to defend any of the movies, but it looks like they are nominations that people "love to hate" instead of honestly awful movies.
I admit the placement of Martin Lawrence in Worst Actress made me laugh
This kind of bums me out because that means a group of people actually had to watch these movies.
Adam Sandler thinks the fake movies in Funny People were genuinely good ideas.
Ha-ha, Sandler's damned by Bucky Larson in addition to his own films.
Being nominated for worst actor and worst actress at the same time is quite a feat.

Sarah Palin's more-or-less a politician, so yes, she's also an actor.
While some of these nominations are very deserved the Razzies are getting as bad as the Oscars. "Oh hey this movie is popular and kind of bad let's nominate it" "Hey this movie is horrible, but no one cares about we'll ignore it". It honestly feels like they're pandering now and hoping that if they nominate enough popular things some celeb will show up or comment on it.
While TF3 was of course terrible, many of the nominations aimed at its actors are uncalled for. I haven't seen J&J, and probably never will, so I might be suffering from tunnel vision when I say that Twilight deserves to win every category.
All of these movies are horrible, but Twilight is offensively so. I actually pulled out my phone and started browsing the web halfway through the movie. Something I have never done before. I literally felt shitty after watching that movie, I was physically not well.
Also, who cares about Bucky Larson. I'm pretty sure that all the people who have actually seen it can be fit into a classroom.
Nice. It was funny seeing Adam appearing in those clips that were shown throughout the Oscars. I just can't take him seriously because all that's going through my head are all of the shit movies that he puts out.
Adam Sandler movies are the bane of my existence, but what I don't understand is why the fuck they make so much goddamn money. The fact that so many terrible movies can be nominated for so many insulting rewards, and yet make such an astounding amount of money is something I predict philosophers will be questioning for decades.
Those saying Transformers 3 didn't deserve this needs to go re-watch it. That movie makes no sense.
