Cartoon Network's best performing block of shows is getting just a little bit bigger. Adult Swim will now start at 8pm and go until 6am. The new hour will begin in a few months and be filled with Family Guy repeats before switching to the Cleveland Show and finally into network originals. This shift with their prime time schedule a lot of the their content airing before Adult Swim will also start showing up on digital streaming in an effort to reach younger viewers who don't just watch TV on TV anymore.
Also, the Boomerang network, Cartoon Network's other channel that traditionally airs more retro and classic cartoons, will begin showing ads soon taking it away from it's ad free programming.
It's nice to see at least one network both succeeding and continuing to change their programming to prepare for the future. Now if only their streaming options were available off of their website.
