America's Buddies Reynolds and Cooper Become Buddy Cops

Ryan Reynolds and Bradley Cooper have signed on to an upcoming buddy cop feature.

I'm getting too hunky for this shit.
I'm getting too hunky for this shit.
Risky Business has news that two of the hottest comic-hunk commodities in Hollywood have signed on to co-star in an untitled buddy cop film. Surely fulfilling some segment of this country's greatest desire, Bradley Cooper and Ryan Reynolds will share the screen in this original story written by Up In The Air scribe Sheldon Turner. Turner reportedly got around a million bucks for the script, so, you know, that means it's really good? Hopefully.

The story, which is set in a hard-edged Lethal Weapon vein, centers on two best buds, Cooper and Reynolds, who are both on San Francisco's police force. Their fathers were also partners in the SFPD. The dads come out of retirement to help their sons work on a case, and much butting of heads ensues.

The story was originally pitched as Blowback a few years ago, with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the lead. Big step up here!

No word on who will play the dads, but given the two leads already announced, I would expect big names in those roles as well. Who do you think would be a good fit? My dream casting would be Carl Weathers and Billy Dee Williams. (Also, did you know those two starred together in a 1990 movie called Dangerous Passion? I didn't until now.)

How bout we just cut out Cooper and Reynolds, and have a Weathers and Williams flick?

I love SF police movies for some reason.

I know people like to hate on Reynolds, but I will take this. I like both actors. Plus, Up in the Air was a good movie, so I hopefully the writer turned out another good one.

Sounds like it has some good talent, we'll see how it turns out

That's easy to answer, lots of hilly streets + streetcars + lots of pedestrians = pure unadulterated action involving car jumps.

I mean c'mon, who doesn't love seeing aerial automotive artistry?

That is going to be the most handsome movie ever.

About time SF gets some film attentions. Last film I can remember, besides The Rock, that used this setting was The Pursuit of Happiness. All I remember from that film was Will Smith running around and sweating.

The problem is the best SF movie possible came out 42 years ago, and everyone else just wants to recreate the dozen lost hubcaps.

Bradley Cooper is showing more and more that he knows how to pick the right roles for him. Or at least thats what I think.

HEY NOW. Ryan Reynolds is Canada's buddy!

Prediction; this film will crack wise.
