Anti-Productivity: The Scene That Proves the LOST Writers Were Planning the Whole Thing All Along

Show masters Lindelof and Cuse drop this "deleted scene" during their SDCC 2011 panel.

I know people who still talk about LOST and its series finale like the shit just happened yesterday *cough*Patrick Klepek*cough*. Whatever you thought of the ending, can we please all agree that this series has been off the air for over a year now and maybe, just maybe, we should move on from the fact that clearly Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse were just making shit up as they went along?

Even those guys are pretty much willing to say as much. Take the above "deleted scene" from the show, which the dupesome twosome debuted during their "LOST: One Year Later" panel. In it, we clearly see that right from the get-go, these guys had the whole thing arranged, like elaborately placed dominoes, just waiting to fall.

Okay, not exactly. But it's still pretty funny.

Bad story telling, fan-baiting enigmas, and deplorable focus characters (Jack, Kate). That's LOST.

Which doesn't explain why I loved it so much.

This is pretty damn funny, and I'm still VERY game for LOST 2: The Adventures of Hurley and Ben.

Awesome

Haha Great great stuff.

it would be funny if it was the actors getting together and making fun of the show but when its the writers doing it its just another insult.

Pretty sure that guy behind the hulk is supposed to be Mark Ruffalo.

Ha, pretty funny. I feel really weird about Jacob ever since a friend pointed out he was one of Jackie Treehorn's thugs when we watched The Big Lebowski

Barry really? Okay then.

Even a year later LOST is still my most favorite show ever, Breaking Bad is a stones throw away from being my second favorite, but this had me laughing my ass off.

Well, I enjoyed that . . .slightly more than the series finale. Really, I didn't care for the finale on a number of levels, and it mostly came down to . . . no ending was going to satisfy everybody and I was in the group of man of science. The show came down on the side of man of faith, and a direction of the finale that wasn't shared by everybody. It wasn't a choose your own ending show, no shows are, . . unless you're the creator/producer. IT was a great show along the way, but like putting a puzzle together, . . . this one wasn't what I wanted the picture to be and I don't see revisiting it as it's done. I got just the right amount of answers for that, no harm no big foul. Peace out Barry and the rest as they quantum leap to the next adventure . . .

That was great, but not enough to redeem the shitty ending.

There is a black rectangle where a video should be. Is it only available in the States or something?

As much as I love Lost, I'm really (happily) surprised to see all the positive energy in the comments here. Was it a flawed show? Sure. But it was also a hell of a ride. I know others feel differently, but I don't regret it for a second.

Good first season, although the constant flashbacks were frustrating. Stopped watching during the second season when it was clear that the show wasn't going anywhere. And now years later, reading about the later happenings on Wikipedia I'm glad I stopped. Now after disappointments of Twin Peaks, The X-Files and Lost I'm really hesistant to ever start watching another of these "mystery" shows.

Pretty funny video. I really like how I have already forgotten about Lost, despite the amount of time it took from me.

Goddamnit I miss LOST.

still waiting for a show to top LOST... Had high hopes for Walking Dead, but that lost most of its steam after the premier

Heh.

@remaininlight: Nah that's the smoke monster you're looking at. Mark Ruffalo is a little more to the left.

That was great, nice for them to throw that together for everyone.

When sushi becomes art as much as it is food, the art of presenting it on film becomes transformative not only to the cuisine, but the people who make it.
