Arrested Development Season 4

The wait is almost over as the new season comes to netflix in Spring of 2013!

Annyong! Any true and die hard fan of Arrested Development has been waiting for the return of the series for years. Luckily, the wait will be over soon and sooner than expected. Speculation has been that Season 4 of the series would be streaming in the Summer of 2013, but a Netflix spokesman confirmed today it will begin airing in the Spring.

In other great news for fans, in an interview David Cross indicated that there might be more than 10 episodes because the writers wrote so much great stuff that it was too much to fit in to such a short season. This is amazing because a. it means they have more than enough content and stories to create another awesome season and b. we will be getting more Bluth family fun than we ever could have expected. (Although, no one will actually yet confirm this, I have a pretty solid source and know it is almost guaranteed we can look forward to more than 10 episodes).

Arrested Development is a fascinating phenomenon in the way that it shows many of the downfalls of television these days and the fact that networks have to be so dependent upon ratings that they cannot keep around some of the best shows simply because they are great. The DVD sales for Arrested Development were through the roof when it was on the air, which was especially impressive because that was before the medium began to become popular. However, that money goes to the studio and was not enough to make the incredibly expensive show profitable for the FOX network. It is a shame, because had they known what a cult hit the show would have become, perhaps they would have played their cards differently.

Either way, any news about the new season is fantastic news and I simply cannot wait.
