| | Salt I admit that I've heard really mixed things about this movie, but I still intend to see it when I get a chance. It's coming out as a "Deluxe Unrated Edition", apparently with the inclusion of the Theatrical, Extended, and Director's Cut. I'm not sure why any movie needs three different versions of itself, but apparently there's some four extra minutes of footage in the Director's Cut, so if you liked the film in theaters you might want to check it out. |
| | Easy A One of my most pleasant surprises of the year, and I suppose it's also probably the film that earned Emma Stone her role in Spider-Man. (Even if the film came out after the casting news, it's a Sony film, so you can be sure some of the suits over there were looking at it while making their Gwen Stacy decision.) Totally charming performance by Stone, and well worth a rental if you're in the mood for a good time. |
| | Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps This is one of those sequels that seems to exist just because someone decided that it was timely. There's no real purpose behind it and no real good commentary on the state of banking or Wall Street. A puzzling film with some good performances, but kind of light on relevance. |
| | Step Up 3-D Got a 3D television? Might as well pick this up! If, you know, you want to keep the 13-year-old girls you kidnap entertained. |
| | Devil I...yeah. What can be said about the audacity of calling something the M. Night Shyamalan Chronicles? Who thought that was a good idea? People have been liking his films less and less as time goes on, and you want to try selling his name now? |
| | Soul Kitchen I dig foreign comedies as much as the next guy, but this was incredibly forgettable to me. So BUY IT NOW! |
| | Family Guy: It's A Trap! I guess people like these here Family Guy Star Wars parodies. You can get the third one on DVD, as well as a three-pack set of all of the Star Wars films in one big thing. |
| | Caprica You know what? This whole "Season 1.5" bullshit needs to go away, as do partial-season DVD releases. Battlestar might have started that nonsense seasonal nomenclature, but I've seen more TV shows opting to release "Season Three, Part Two" kind of DVD sets, which is kind of infuriating. If you're looking for TV seasons, though, you've also got Billy The Exterminator (First Two Seasons), Futurama: Volume 5, Gene Simmons Family Jewels: Seasons 4 and 5, and The Secret Life Of The American Teenager: Volume Five. |

I'm trying to watch it and I dunno, the movie just seems very awkward to watch. Maybe it's because while it stars the gravelly voiced Screened Starlet Emma Stone, it also stars a bunch of B and C list Disney Channel actors
I don't mind the Season 1.5 releases that are typical of SyFy programming. Given that most shows do a midseason hiatus, it provides a legit way for people to catch up or rewatch. A lot of the MGM releases go straight to Netflix streaming.
Great movie to watch with a lady friend.
He needs a Sixth Sense 2 right now.
