CBS this morning decided to just go ahead and renew basically all the shows that make it the leader in the ratings year after year. Here's the list of shows that they're definitely going to bring back:
- 2 Broke Girls
- Mike & Molly
- Blue Bloods
- Hawaii Five-0
- Person of Interest
- The Good Wife
- NCIS
- NCIS: LA
- Criminal Minds
- CSI
- The Mentalist
- The Amazing Race
- Undercover Boss
- 60 Minutes
- 48 Hour Mystery
Already renewed or contracted for multiple seasons are The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother. The fate of Two And A Half Men is more tenuous; Ashton Kutcher was only signed for one season, since no one knew how well he would perform, and now that the show has bounced back he's apparently going to be an expensive guy to sign up to return.
Deadline says that the following shows are on the bubble and/or unlikely to return:

Why change what works I guess. Glad to see Amazing Race still kicking hard, that show is still a pretty good watch.
I find it hard to think they will ever end CSI:Miami or New York.
I like 2 broke girls... i dont know why, but I do. So there, mock me!
Didn't know what Rob! was so I clicked the link. It shows Rob Schneider and says "Do you really want to know". This is why I love Screened
Hawaii Five-0 and Person of Interest are the only shows i'll watch on CBS.
Besides college basketball, the NFL, and Price is Right, there's absolutely nothing on CBS that I've ever been interested in.
Hawaii Five-0 just keeps being on the air and I just keep not understanding that.
@Rhaknar: it's secretly the dirtiest show on TV if you ask me!
Awful and racist?!? I had no intention of ever watching 2 Broke Girls, but now I'm actually interested. Masochistic mayhaps?
I sort of like 2 Broke Girls and I really don't know why. It's just good terrible comedy that's easy as hell to watch and I should hate it but I don't. They're also hot, which helps a lot.

You can google it; I've never watched but heard a lot of weird things about the show.
Blue Bloods is awful. That is all
Yay more PoI and Rules Engagement will NEVER end its to easy to use it to fill in for some failed show 3 weeks in. 2 Broke Girls never looked that interesting/funny but my mom apparently likes it.

Well, just read that article and watched two clips and I gotta say that the laborious jokes, languid delivery, and canned laughter are all definitely more offensive than any hardcore racism.
I like Blue Bloods and 2 Broke Girls. I don't know. Maybe I'm not hipster enough to hate them like many others.
As for this whole "racist" thing with 2 Broke Girls, that article Rorie linked meant little to me the moment I hit "A little background is probably in order. I don't usually watch 2 Broke Girls..." If he doesn't watch the show often, then he doesn't know the admiration that Max and Caroline have for Han as both their boss and as their friend. Moreover, the character may be stereotyped...but so are a TON of other characters out there. What about Gloria on Modern Family? Hell, let's go back and look at Seinfeld or Friends, where people of other races that were ever on the show were treated like outsiders or had their own stereotyping that was easily more racist than anything that 2 Broke Girls does! If anything, Han Lee and Oleg and Earl are presented in a STEREOTYPED light, but it's not a RACIST light. By that same token, Max and Caroline are both ALSO portrayed in a STEREOTYPED light.
It's called COMEDY. Comedy typically goes over-the-top with the stereotypes. Look at Parks and Rec, for crying out loud! Hell, DO look at Parks and Rec, as Tom Haverford is constantly given shit that he's from Libya...when he clearly tells people all the time that he's from South Carolina...and they just ignore him!
So seriously...if you don't watch it, then I don't really know how there is much room to comment. Moreover, Rorie, have YOU watched 2 Broke Girls, or is your opinion based on the internet's consensus and articles that you link? I would hope that you are speaking from having actually watched the show, as I value the opinions of you and Alex and would hate to learn that you are throwing around an opinion on something you haven't even watched at all. = /
As for Blue Bloods, I just like police procedurals, but I like the characters and the premise that it's a family of cops a lot.
Oh no! Not Rob!
"If you cancel CSI Miami..."
*puts sunglasses on*
"I'll fucking kill you CBS execs"
YEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
...
And that's how Dave Caruso will get his renewal:)
Out of that whole list, I've only saw Amazing Race and 2 Broke Girls at that time. I'm glad I did that. :)
Please kill CSI: Miami, it just has to go.
