So Neveldine and Taylor are directing a Ghost Rider movie? This could be awesome. Holy shit, these guys are crazy. Neveldine, especially. He hung onto a motorcyle while wearing rollerblades, then let go to get a shot of another motorcycle popping a wheelie. Put himself on a sling with a stuntman while he got flung off a mountain road into the air a few hundred feet off the ground. Crazy-looking stuff. This DVD is going to have a fair amount of cool featurettes. And the tagline? "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance: Fucking your shit up in 3D February 2012."
The rest of the panelists? Idris Elba, Johnny Whitworth, and Nicolas Cage.
Taylor says: "This character makes no sense at all. He doesn't have superpowers; his power is to suck out your soul! That's insane!"
Great, great trailer for this. The new effect for Ghost Rider's head looks really radical, and it's got the infectious Nevaldine/Taylor camera craziness going on. Have no clue how they shot it in 3D; it might've been post-converted since they're working with some pretty small cameras. Ghost Rider takes an entire Uzi clip to the mouth and then SPITS IT BACK AT THE DUDE. An amazing shot from the cliff, showing the opposite side of the bit in the featurette, where Elba goes off the cliff and turns around to fire at a car behind him. Looks insanely cool. The trailer ends with Cage talking to a boy who asks if he can pee fire, and, it appears, he can. Arcing stream of firey piss issuing forth from Ghost Rider, whose back is to the camera, thankfully. These guys are making a crazy movie.
"Basically our style is to bully, unnerve, and instill fear in our performers." Nevaldine and Taylor seem like they're the X-Game version of film directors; they have a great sense of humor and it looks like they had a bunch of fun making this movie.
Idris Elba confirms that he's interested in doing Luke Cage. Time to call Isaiah Mustafa and let him know the fight is on.
What drew you back to the Ghost Rider role? Rather than say "I'm broke!", Cage goes for the "I had more to say and wanted to embrace the nightmare aspect of the character."
Q: Why not the hellcycle in this one? A: Basically, anything Ghost Rider rides turns into a hell version of that thing. At one point in the film, Rider takes over a strip miner and it becomes a hell version of that. Should be radical.
Q: What stunt would you never do again? A: We're looking for stunts TO do! Out next movie we're gonna shoot the whole movie naked. And we're getting barely legal jokes from Taylor, based on the "many members of your audience may be under 18" warning on the back of their placards. They both seem to want to do another GR movie, should the opportunity come along. Hopefully it's really good and they get their chance.

well it couldn't be worse than the first one
The first was terrible. Interested in seeing how this turns out! I like the Crank movies.
The Crank guys are awesome. I can't wait to see what they do with this movie.
God damn you Nicolas Cage...
Cool.
It'd be nice to see a ghost rider movie that not everyone thinks is completely forgettable.
Looking forward to it.
I'll watch anything by Nevaldine and Taylor.
Cage absolutely ruined the first one. Hearing he's back isn't exactly instilling me with confidence.
I need to see this trailer as soon as possible.
Nevaldine/Taylor AND Nic Cage?! I'm amazed Rorie could concentrate on typing over the sheer deafening awesomeness.
Seriously, I've no interest in the character but the prospect is just too good.
The only thing that really bothered me about the first one was that Ghost Rider didn't really DO anything. Like he fought demons, but only in the most technical sense, their battles were over before they even started. This sounds like it's taking that to heart, and I don't really care about Cage playing the Rider cause the only time I really care about him is when he's a flaming, CG skull. And to Cage's credit, he seems to have some real passion for the character.
Couldn't be in better hands than the Crank guys, I'm actually on board with this.
Crank 1 was fun, Crank 2 was so utterly batshine insane fun that is awesome, and then Gamer was mediocre. But then again, Gamer tried to be too serious, even with Neveldine/Taylor's camera-work and the subject matter. I wonder how this movie will strive that line. But honestly, Neveldine/Taylor movies have some of the most mind-blowing cinematography right now.
