And another player enters the game. Crackle, the free video streaming service similar to Hulu or Netflix, has announced it's own slate of original programming which will include both TV shows and movies. Some of the bigger names include David Spade reprising possibly his best role as Joe Dirt in a sequel to the beloved original film. Another film is called Extraction, and is touting itself as the first major feature film made specifically for digital consumption. Extraction will star Danny Glover and Sean Astin and is a prison escape/martial arts movie.
More original content is good for any of these services. Diversity and options usually mean consumers win and the cream will, hopefully, rise to the top. I may start looking into Crackle more and support their en-devour to help change the sometimes stagnant movie and TV business.
