Daniel Craig will be back for two more films

We will continue to call him Bond...James Bond

I'm not totally surprised that this happened, with the upcoming release of Skyfall, but producers announced today that they have signed Daniel Craig on for two more Bond films. This would make it a total of 5 films in the franchise for the star, who took over for the first time in 2006 with Casino Royale.

Personally, I am a big fan of the Daniel Craig Bond films. I know that he doesn't have quite the swagger that previous portrayals of the character did (Pierce Brosnan or Sean Connery), but there is a realism he brings to the movies that I adore.

The trailers for Skyfall look like the franchise could have a return to glory after Quantam of Solace was a bit under-whelming, since 007 has to deal with the aftermath of an attack on MI6. I also have to say, that when looking at the current landscape of mature male actors, I'm not sure if there is anyone that could do it better.

What are your thoughts? Are you happy Daniel Craig has signed on for two more Bonds?

I was worried that he wouldn't get many chances to play the character due to MGM's financial troubles. This is good news. Now lets see if Craig is up to the challenge!

I'd love to hear 's opinion especially after the new one comes out this year.

That's when this move will seem right or not. Casino was great but the next one wasn't. So we'll see. Craig does do a great Bond.

he is bond now

I am inclined to complain since I hated Quantum but I understand Casino was better and the actor isn't defined by the movie.

Did anyone read the article where Roger Moore said that he thought Daniel Craig was the best James Bond??

Moviemaniacon Sept. 6, 2012 at 6:28 p.m.

How much longer can Craig go? He's 44 and it won't be long before he turns 50.

We don't another Roger Moore, do we?

I'm happy with this news. He was fantastic in Casino Royale. The sequel, Quantum of Solace, was decent, but not one of the best Bond films. From the trailers I've seen for Skyfall, this already looks to be an improvement if not a huge one over the last film.

It's now time for Daniel Craig to show us he can be the best James Bond since Sean Connery, and I think he's on the right track..

Vincemasteron Sept. 6, 2012 at 11:02 p.m.

Casino Royale was fantastic, Quantum was not, but regardless, Craig is a fantastic Bond so this is good news. Skyfall looks great. The only person I can think of who could possibly match (or even surpass) Craig as Bond would be Michael Fassbender. Goddamn, he would be a good Bond.

I honestly don't care for Daniel Craig. He's feels too much like a robot, like the Terminator or something. He lacks charm and charisma.

Rhythmon Sept. 7, 2012 at 6:50 a.m.

Baffled by the notion that people find Casino to be the superior movie. Quantum was *tons* better paced

zoozillaon Sept. 7, 2012 at 2:17 p.m.

@Rhythm: If by "better paced" you mean it was more action-focused, then yes. But it lacked much of the character building that made Casino Royale so great. Also, Eva Green was one of the best Bond girls ever.

Daniel Craig is the absolute best Bond, he plays it super true to the books. Amazing.

The movies are amazing and I'm happy they seem to be getting on a 2 year schedule of release again.
