DVD/Blu-Ray: January 15th

If you need a cry of sadness, a cry of happiness or just a good cry The Intouchables is your thang

If you were to look at the reviews of the movies released this week, you would think we lived in a time when movies just suck. Only one of them is rated about 50% on the good ol' Rotten of Tomatoes. But wait….there is a bright spot. The Intouchables. The story of a friendship between a handicapped man and his caretaker was one of the most successful foreign films over the last year. I've been waiting for it on DVD and of there is one to watch this week, that would be it.

DVD/Blu-Ray: January 15th

1. Taken 2

If being Taken once was not enough for you, then you can get Taken again. However, the better plan might just be to watch the first movie, because, well, that one is actually good.

2. The Possession

The only part that is intriguing about this is the fact that it is based on a true story. However, other than that, it seems like a very standard little girl possessed by the devil move that falls back on lame cliches. Oh, and really, it's a true story?!

3. The Intouchables

Just watch the trailer and then watch the movie.

4. Won't Back Down

The concept of this was great, execution not so much. In a very socially relevant story, two determined mothers will stop at nothing to help transform their children's failing inner city school. Too bad it doesn't have enough weight to actually make an impact on the issue.

5. To Rome with Love

After his winning streak with Midnight In Paris and Match Point, Woody Allen stumbled his way through the mediocre To Rome With Love. He should have just stayed in Paris.

6. Being Human

A ghost, a vampire and a werewolf walk into a bar…. Yeah, I got nothing after that. Just know this is the BBC version of Being Human that is the better of the versions.

I still want to see THE POSSESSION because it was written by the couple who did KNOWING and is produced by Sam Raimi.

I'll see anything that has to do with Sam Raimi. So, I'll definitely rent The Possession. Also, The Intouchables sounds like an interesting movie.

Dig Deeper into Being Human

American version of the BBC Sci-Fi show. Three roommates: a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost, struggle to get through their day to day existence as dealing with their personal and professional lives is that much harder when your a supernatural being.
