DVD/Blu-Ray: July 31st

This week in DVDs: Let's Go to Teen-Land

The DVD releases are so bad this week, I really considered not reporting on them. Seriously. I mean…..LOL, really Miley Cyrus (or more accurately…really Demi Moore?!). However, I have to wonder if that movie could fall in the so-terribly-awful-it's-good category? I don't know that I would mind being able to laugh (out loud) at this movie for a few hours.

Otherwise, there is Detention, ATM and 4.3.2.1 – and all I can wonder is it teen horror film release week or something?

DVD/Blu-Ray: July 31st

1. LOL: Laughing Out Loud

Like omg, like this movie is like so awesome guyz. You will be rofl-ing so like hard and stuff. (Please just make it go away).

2. Detention

An apocalyptic fantasy horror, science fiction, action-thriller that is really just a teen romantic comedy with Dane Cook in it. Yup, horror is right.

3. ATM

Aren't we all afraid of being trapped in an ATM vestibule with some scary guy outside threatening to kill us? No? Oh well, if you watch this maybe you will be now. Still no? Yeah, you're right, this just looks silly.

4. 4.3.2.1

I thought LOL would be the bottom of the barrel this week, but I was wrong.

5. Le Havre

The French film looks like the bright spot of the week. It is a warmhearted look at the story of a man whose life is changed when an African refugee crosses his path. It is 99% fresh and looks like it deserves it.

6. Marilyn Monroe - Forever Marilyn Blu-Ray Collection

The Forever Marilyn Collection marks the release of several Marilyn Monroe movies on Blu-Ray. This includes: Gentlemen Prefer Blondes; How to Marry a Millionaire; River of No Return; There's No Business Like Show Business; The Seven Year Itch; Some Like it Hot; and The Misfits.

I must say the first time I saw Gentlemen Prefer Blondes I was hooked and became a Marilyn addict. I love her charm and whether or not she is the best actress, she is a joy to watch. This includes several of her most famous films.

7. The Bunny Game

A prostitute hitches a ride with a trucker and gets more than she bargained for as she begins praying for her next breath. I mean, really, who thinks hitch-hiking is a good idea in this day and age?!

I don't think I even made it through the trailer for LOL, it seemed to be that horrible.
