 | 1. Red Between this and Cop Out, 2010 was The Year Of Acting Boredingly (Ed Note: Bordingly? Wow. -- Alex) for Bruce Willis. Despite him, and despite the fact that this in no way resembles the source material that it was based on, it's still mildly amusing at times, mostly thanks to the game supporting cast. My favorite part of this is that the commentary track is by former CIA agent Robert and author Robert Baer, who...well, I just don't know why they'd get a real former CIA agent to do a commentary on a film that's effectively a fantasy. |
 | 2. Secretariat This film is so goddamn sentimental; it doesn't wear its heart on its sleeve as much as its entire circulatory system. Teary speeches are delivered, rousing successes are earned, and anyone with even a vague grasp of history will not feel suspense in the least. |
 | 3. Saw 3D It's interesting to note that the DVD version of this is simply Saw: The Final Chapter, while the Blu-Ray version is Saw 3D: The Final Chapter. It's a small thing, but since when is it cool to actually change the name of your film based on what format you're releasing it on? Pick one and go with it. |
 | 4. The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest The tepid final film of the Swedish trilogy has arrived. At first I was offput by the idea that these would be remade by Americans, but after this last film, where a secret government agency decides to intimidate journalists not by beating them up or killing their dogs but by throwing rocks through their windows, I'm thinking that Fincher might up the ante a bit and make the tension seem more real. We'll find out soon, I guess! |
 | 5. Like Dandelion Dust Mira Sorvino and Barry Pepper star as a couple attempting to regain custody of a child they gave up for adoption when Pepper's character went to jail seven years ago. So they're effectively the worst couple ever, then? |
 | 6. Enter the Void Everyone's favorite flashback-inducing movie about a druggie's experiences in the afterlife. I'll have to check it out, if only because I hear it's kind of batshit insane. Although maybe I'm hedging my bets: "batshit insane" is something you either are or you're not; there's no "kinda" about it. |
 | 7. Client 9: The Rise and Fall of Eliot Spitzer To be fair to Eliot Spitzer, Ashley Dupre is pretty goddamn hot. |
 | 8. Dogtooth According to Netflix, this movie is Cerebral and Romantic. Sure, that DVD cover makes me think that. I guess I could also read Alex's review for more insight. |
 | 9. Red Hill Another Australian western that apparently is ok. |
 | 10. Inhale Oh man, a drama about a dad who heads to Mexico to get illegal organs for his terminally ill kid. Sounds like a delight that will not at all be depressing. |
 | 11. Nowhere Boy The somewhat-lauded biopic of John Lennon that didn't exactly set the box office on fire. I've heard mostly good things about this one. |
 | 12. Which Way Home A documentary about child who attempt to train-hop their way illegally into America. Expect Lou Dobbs to issue a ringing endorsement any day now. |
 | 13. Dead Space: Aftermath An apparently interesting but not overwhelming look at the Dead Space universe. I'd be more interested in this if the PC port of the game was good enough for me to want to finish it. |
 | 14. White Wedding Amazon user K. Harris says "I love road trips that involve livestock!" That's good enough for me to whole-heartedly embrace this South African romantic comedy. |
 | 15. Bellamy I'm not sure how many movie posters feature a portly-looking, grim, older gentleman looking at the viewer with a gun in his hand, as if to say "I have a job to do and I'm going to do it whether you like it or not." But I bet it's a lot. |

I haven't seen Hornet's Nest, but I just watched The Girl Who Played with Fire. Whoof, what a crappy sequel. It's a shame because the first one was so good.
might pick up red wanted to go see it when it was in the movies but didn't find anyone to go with me :(
Though it is definitely not for the faint hearted. At the screening I went to, there was multiple walk outs and a ton of... reactions to some of the more bizarre events of the film. That said, some of the cinematography and camerawork, is just beautiful, the neon gaudiness of Tokyo is a real delight to see.
Man I need to see this film again.
