DVD/Blu-Ray: Tuesday, April 17th

Mission: Impossible franchise returns to greatness and now we can watch it...again...and again...and again.

Normally, I would have thought the conversation about DVD releases this week would stop at Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, but then I realized that Shame is also being released. While I'm not sure there can be a comparison in the two in terms of enjoyment factor, I don't think you can leave Shame out when discussing great films to watch. Mission: Impossible is all about the fun, action and excitement and no one can deny that it's is a joyride that we all should probably go on. Shame, on the other hand, is a dark, devious and graphic depiction of sex addiction. The high point of it is Michael Fassbender's performance that is so stunning and honest, it makes me wonder if there is anything that he cannot do. And then, I see the new viral trailer for Prometheus and I think the answer is decidedly, no.

DVD/Blu-Ray

1. Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol

It's Mission: Impossible and it's Tom Cruise and it's so much better than the last one it almost makes you believe that all franchises have a chance to get better and age well with time...almost.

2. Shame

It's a really good film - just don't watch it with your children, your parents or maybe anyone, for that matter.

3. Born to Be Wild

An elephant drinking a bottle and an orangutan eating spaghetti in an inspiring love story about the bond between humans and orphaned animals with the voiceover of Red? The trailer alone makes me get teary. Yes, please.

4. The Divide

This just looks creepy and scary, and besides from pretty stunning visuals of a nuclear bomb, I don't see much to this beyond gratuitous rape, murder, torture and insanity, unless that is your thing, of course.

5. Bob's Burgers

Season One. I know it's an animated show on FOX that is not The Simpsons or from Seth MacFarlane, but it makes me laugh so very much, and if you haven't seen it yet, I think it's worth a marathon. It is 30 minutes and will be quick and just might make you never want to order a burger again...especially "The Child Molester: It comes with candy".

Getting Mission Impossible on blu-ray and very excited to watch it again. I'm afraid to watch Shame though just on the off chance some one will walk in on me watching it and I'm afraid to watch Born to Be Wild because it looks to cute. Also I saw the first episode of Bob's Burgers and hated it so watch out on that one folks

Bob's Burgers is a very funny show. I'm glad it got picked up for this 2nd season. I'll be picking that up and maybe Shame although Shame always seemed like something that I would like but never have the urge to watch many times. Or give to many people that I know to watch. Maybe it is just the reason I need finally give RedBox a try.

Just gotta add my voice to the few saying that Bob's Burgers is a great show. Hilarious voice acting. Great animation style. And by far most importantly... jokes that come from the characters/situations, rather than random pop culture references!

It's reminiscent of mid-nineties Simpsons (which is one of the highest accolades I can give to this kind of show).

So your saying we should watch Shame in Shame.

I'll finally get to watch Shame. No wait, it's not out here to May. I'll keep on waiting I suppose...
