Somebody pulled this out of the WTF? cabinet. Deadline says that Clint Eastwood’s next directorial joint will be a remake of A Star is Born headlined by Beyonce. Got to give the guy for credit for never repeating himself…
A Star is Born is, of course, the oft-remade story of a rising star’s love affair with a declining singer--a "Sun rises while the Moon sets" kind of deal. Beyonce would play the former, obviously, while the latter has yet to be cast. Will Smith was in talks for a while, but the role for a slightly more-seasoned actor is still wide open (probably not wide enough for Clint, though.)
The last version starred Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson, and it was notable for establishing the notorious Jon Peters as a producer (he’s the guy whom Kevin Smith’s told all those stories about, the one who wanted Superman to rassle polar bears and giant spiders.)
Actually, this musical could be the project Eastwood’s whole career has been angling to. The guy’s love of music is well-known, but I’m willing to bet a lot of you who know him best as a grizzled gunslinger or a crotchety homeowner probably aren’t aware that he sang in a musical western in the 70s.
Let the savage beast sooth you with the power of music in this clip from Paint Your Wagon, a tender ballad about talking to trees…

Glitter was a vanity project starring a non-actress.
so this is verrry surprising to me annnnd i hate musicals man.
