Eva Mendes and Kate Bosworth Among Those Competing For Total Recall Roles

Readings begin for the two major female roles in Len Wiseman's Total Recall remake.

You might remember the feature we ran about our casting choices for a Total Recall remake. Well, now we get to see how our choices stack up against Sony’s picks. Deadline has a list of actresses who are reading for the two major female roles in the film.

Let’s start with Lori, the batshit crazy wife of Douglas Quaid who was originally played by Sharon Stone. Kate Bosworth and Diane Kruger are said to be reading for that role. The second major female character in Total Recall was that of Melina, the brunette who helps Quaid after he gets his ass to Mars. Rachel Ticotin played her in the original and this time around Paula Patton and Eva Mendes are reading for the role. Jessica Biel and Eva Green are also said to be two more possibilities.

Let's just get this out of the way. Not a single one of these choices made it onto our lists...damn. I was so sure Zoe Saldana would get an offer, she's being attached to everything! Anyway, out of these choices I think I’d be most interested in seeing Diane Kruger and Paula Patton (who, just as a reminder, is NOT Paula Poundstone--we forget ourselves, sometimes) in the remake. But, I do think Eva Green is a tremendous talent as well and would fit in nicely alongside Colin Farrell. Len Wiseman is set to direct this one with Neal Moritz (if you don’t know this name, check out his huge credit list) producing. Production will begin in May.

Kate Bosworth?  Blue Crush was 9 years ago and since then she has done nothing (and looks to have eaten close to nothing)

There's only one question, and it's this:

WHO WILL PLAY THE THREE TITTED WOMAN!?!
My pick: Rosie O'Donnell.

I'd be interested in seeing Rebecca Hall or Molly Parker in that specific role.

Kate Bosworth & Jessica Biel... Yeesh!

I have faith that Wiseman can deliver but if either of those two names end up in the finished product then I have to believe something has gone tragically awry.

Awry I say!

I'd see this movie day one if it had Paula Poundstone in it.

Just sayin'.

So many reboots...
WHAT? This one too??
Can't they pick up another yet-to-make-into-a-movie Philip K Dick book??

Shit, Paula Poundstone would be great in a Total Recall remake!
