So spoke young master Anakin…
"We're talking about it right now actually… Hopefully [the story will go] somewhere a little darker. I think there's a lot you can do with it. It was sort of set up in a way it's gonna be mother hunting son and possibly even maybe sister hunting brother. We're talking about it, trying to figure it out."
Presumably, this would draw from the original novel’s sequel, Reflex, which shows how jumpers can also teleport from planet to planet and through time (in addition to the usual instantaneous jaunts to Egypt.) It also has Rachel Bilson’s character learning how to jump, too.The whole cryptic mother-hunting-son, sister-hunting-brother thing alludes to the conclusion of Jumper, which revealed that Christensen’s character’s mother was part of the anti-jumper Paladins and that he had a younger half-sister (who’d very likely join the Paladins.) Of course, lil' sis was played by Kristen Stewart, pre- Twilight, and she might be a wee bit harder to get this time.

With that said, the idea behind the film isn't too hot either. Neat idea to teleport, yes but they would need an extremely charming, funny and likable protagonist and an equally charming and terrifying antagonist to make me forget about the crappy story behind the whole thing. Kinda like how Robert Downey Jr.'s performance made you forget most of the script deficiencies in Iron Man 2.
I would pay 10 bucks just to see Hayden Christensen "jump" into a volcano.
Seriously, Jumper was about an asshole who only cared about himself and used his powers to steal money from banks and never to help anyone. The only cool parts were the super teleport punch, the teleportation of a giant double decker bus, and the teleporting chase scene. That's it.
It didn't help that it was one of the most poorly shot movies I've ever seen, either.
Hehe, yeah, I imagine the producers sitting in a meeting "Let's go darker for the sequel, just look at Dark Knight, we should do it too!"
well... its not all his fault, but he's one of lucas' accomplices.
Id pay more.
