So they're going to have to stop making this show when they catch up with the books, right?
Game of Thrones is an HBO series based on the novel by George R.R. Martin. This dark fantasy entails the power struggle between factions for the throne of the Seven Kingdoms. Honor, deceit, and ambition are blurred in this epic adventure series.

I always imagined Stannis to sound differently, more blunt and sour. I'm psyched nonetheless!
Yaaay Stannis!
Everyone looks... dirtier.
@Dylabaloo:
I was just impressed of quite how much Stannis reminded me of his brother, Mark Addy. AKA the man from the Tesco adverts
Alright, I'm sorry for sounding like an asshole, but the visual effects on that trailer look like they were made by someone who hasn't used after effects for more than an hour.
That sounded a lot like David Wenham....is Faramir in this as well?!
Sad not to see a certain Maid of Tarth in the trailer, but her time will come! Stannis isn't as I imagined him, but in my head he was older than Robert (even though I know he wasn't, he just always seemed like such a bitter geezer) so that's not very surprising.
@Zzzleepy said:
I always imagined him as a bulked up Michael Hogan, but you're right; logically he should be younger than Robert and Ned. Kinda obvious, but I never thought about that.
I can't wait, I'm almost through the second book.
Has there ever been a movie/tv show based on a book that followed the story and events 100% with almost no deviation.
Arya!!
@Dany: They swapped the Night's Watchmen that died north of the wall and was executed by Ned. Small change, but still, a change.
@ryanwho: Both Martin and the two show runners have said that Martin revealed his planned ending to them, so even if they do catch the books, they should be able to finish it accurately.
If they do keep going with the TV series past the current end point of the books then I will not watch it until I have read the final book.
I'm ready for it. I'm fairly certain it wont drop as low as Walking Dead did for me.
Don't forget there will be a huge Sean Bean shaped hole in this season. Are we interested enough in the other characters?
I guess fantasy isn't for me, because after four episodes this was so boring and soap opera-ish that I can't muster myself to see another episode. Never liked Harry Potter or LOTR either. Saw a couple on a British flight who both had these Game of Thrones books, so I guess this is just the new craze for casual readers like Dan Brown books are.
*readies flame shield*
lackluster trailer but season 2 is going to be very eventful and exciting - currently reading the book
ooooh yeah bring it!
I'm really looking forward to season 3 and 4 (A Storm of Swords was split in two at one point and it's frikkin' long). The best book in the series filled with awesome shenanigans. With that said I am of course really psyched about the upcoming season. George R. R. Martin is a fantastic if not somewhat predictable storyteller. Readers and not watchers will know what I mean. Also, I'm kind of pissed about the amount of characters who "die" and come back -especially prominent in the later novels.
