I know some of you guys really like Avatar: The Last Airbender, even if the rest of society probably wants nothing to do with it after the creation of that god-awful M. Night Shyamalan movie. Still, Nickelodeon is pressing forward with a sequel series set 1,000 years after the original show, and they've released a brand-new trailer for it, handily embedded above. Look good? Good.

No.
Anyway, I know these Nickelodeon advertisements are aimed at kids, but they can make any show look like an awful comedy.
I really liked the original series and feel like this has a lot to live up to. Star Wars at least had the benefit of characters from the previous installments connecting the audience to the prior movies whereas this one is going to have to start for the most part fresh considering the previous avatar needs to die before the next one can even be born. She looks to be in her teens if not older sooooo. . . I dunno. Most of what I liked about the previous series had to do with a lot of the things that no longer apply anymore (characters, the ongoing war and history of an entire people's being killed off).
YAY new stuff. DIdn't care for VO guy but meh. JUST GET HERE ALREADY.
The animation seems to have taken a nice step up.
At the risk of sounding like a dork, I really liked the original cartoon. It did a great job of blending funny and action, and felt suitably epic. But the clips, and especially the voice over, felt too silly and wacky. I hope that's just a marketing decision to get kids to watch the pilot, because from what i've heard, the story is supposed to have a similarly grand scale.
That promo was pretty terrible, but the show looks really good. Can't be any worse than the live action movie, right?

I think it's closer to 70 years. And I also disliked the announcer voice. Not bad, just a little off-putting
Yah!! Love Avatar the last Airbender. Hope this is good.
TERRIBLE ad, but it's a continuation of probably one of the best TV animated shows in the past 10 years, if not ever.
I'm so fucking pumped
The whole of society wants nothing to do with the ShyamalanAirbender movie. The fans of the TV show above everyone else I would think. At least I'm in that group. I think the first season of Avatar is great and the other two are just ok, but I'm really looking forward to this.
Wha.... what happened? This isnt what I signed for D: god dang you american tv networks you spoil anything good
Also Matt, I don't know where you got 1000 years from. As far as I know at least two of the characters in this show are children of characters from the old series.
I can't help but think that this series is the creators' way of apologising to the fans for the movie, even though they didn't have much to do with it. Itr just seems fortuitous that this went into production coinciding with the film being released and becoming universally (and justifiably) hated.
As far as I know this is just going to be 12 episodes. I think that's a good thing. They can work on a much tighter story. And already the animation looks leagues ahead of what they had for A:TLA.
That was such a terrible trailer. But it was probably aimed at kids. But it was still terrible.
I came across this trailer though and it's so much better that my goosebumps got goosebumps.
@alphaSPID3R: That trailer was much better.
@alphaSPID3R: Thanks man that really helped after how awful the other commercial was. I'm not sure if I'm digging the thought of cars and that stuff that much I thought it was much better when they had the trains that the earth benders moved and ships water benders moved but hey as long as it works out
I'm excited for polar bear dog.
Yo, this show is gonna be DOPE AS FUUUUCK
POLAR BEAR DOG?
YES PLEASE!
